Description:
The 40' Reefer Container is a temperature-controlled unit designed for the efficient transportation of perishable goods. Built to ISO standards, it integrates seamlessly into container ship cell guides, ensuring smooth handling across sea, road, and rail transport. The integrated refrigeration unit enables precise temperature management but results in a slight reduction in internal volume and payload capacity.

When shipped, these containers connect to the vessel's onboard power supply. If additional power is required, "power packs" equipped with diesel generators may be used. At terminals, they rely on shore power, while road and rail transport typically use generator sets (gensets) to maintain refrigeration.

The reefer system circulates cold air from bottom to top, drawing out warm air, cooling it, and redistributing it evenly. Corrugated side walls and grated flooring improve airflow, preventing uneven temperature zones. Proper loading techniques, including the use of pallets and ensuring adequate clearance above cargo, optimize cold air distribution.
Additional Features:
-
Fresh Air Exchange – Controls COâ‚‚ and ethylene levels, vital for transporting fruits and vegetables.
-
Advanced Temperature Monitoring – Uses supply and return air temperature sensors, with digital or analog recording options for data tracking and evaluation.
-
Versatile Stowage – Can be stored above or below deck on vessels. Above-deck storage allows better heat dissipation but requires additional refrigeration capacity due to solar exposure.
Usage:
-
Chilled Goods: Fruits, vegetables, dairy, fresh meat
-
Frozen Goods: Seafood, meat, pharmaceuticals
-
Specialized Cargo: High-cube variants cater to lightweight, voluminous goods like flowers and fresh produce
-
Hanging Meat Transport: Equipped with special hook rails for chilled meat transportation
Reefer containers are essential for maintaining cold-chain logistics, ensuring temperature-sensitive cargo arrives in optimal condition across global supply chains.
